First of all i want to say hello to everyone on the site, excellent info on here. ( thanks for having me ) secondly i am a newbie, ( bet ya dont get many of those on here heh ) i have a genuine uk sky subscription which i want to be able to connect to a spare wireless router that i have here through a DreamBox of course and be able to watch the channels in other rooms in the house, guess they have to be a wired network? what type of dreamboxes should i buy, is it even possible?

sorry if its a silly question but when starting from scratch its best to be sure...

You can use your Legal subscription with DreamBox , you also can Connect several Boxes to the Box wich have the Card inside .

My advise is a Dm7020 as Server ( that one have the Card Inside ) , and Dm500 as Client Boxes ( these Boxes Connect to the Box with the Card inside) .

You can do that with Emulators Like CCcam that are Installed inside the Boxes, so you don`t need a ( Hardware ) Cam that is inserted into the CI Slot.

Another possebility with DreamBox is Cardsharing...

You can watch channels from my Card , and i can watch channels from your card if we exchange some Files and Details .

Butt... i can not go further into Details because it is forbidden by the Dutch law.

I hope you know now some possibility`s about DreamBox.

Thankyou so much, i'l get a 7020 pretty soon so, i guess the dm500's would have to be connected to a wired network in my house in order for me to share my subscription card?? would also be interested in the other option you mentioned but i understand about the legalities of it all but if you know a way, i'm willing to try and further my knowledge of computer networking, for educational purposes only of course...

You also can Connect your other Boxes Wireless.

Many Guys use Netgear equipment by... Bridge or a Game adaptor.

Personaly i prefer Wired Connections... Router to Boxes

Sorry for the late reply, been very busy, dont get a lot of free time to use internet, have only an old desktop which had been retired from use when i purchased a laptop some time ago but the laptop is now deceased.... and desktop upstairs in a wardrobe... i have no wired network in the house which will make it difficult to connect the boxes but i'l manage it some how... have to get some cash together and then buy some boxes, i am very new to this so when the time comes i'd appreciate step by step help to get up and running...
